Yeah, yeah we all have hearts but what does America truly have to gain from helping Haiti as far as our political well being?

nothing but it “LOOKS” good. look at all the free press it is getting. they had nothing before and now they have less. sounds like it would be a good time t move if you live there

Politically, there may not be an apparent reason. But not everything that one does is motivated by a “What’s in it for me?” mindset.
Sometimes you adopt a puppy because it needs a home. You may choose to date someone not because of what you’ll gain from the experience, but because it feels right. You may read a book not for knowledge, but for the escapism.
And sometimes, to feel more human, you have to reach out and help someone in need. It has nothing to do with God or greatness. You do it because it’s the right thing to do, and ultimately you become a better person for it.

Give Haiti a chance and I’m sure they will improve. They’ve only had a little over 200 years to figure out how to plant a field and raise crops. They cry about water and electricity which they didn’t have before the quake. It takes work to find natural resources and work is something you don’t see much of in Haiti. Looting is easier.

honestly, i think america knows it isn’t going to gain but possibly in later years if something happens in politics that could affect the way other countries look at america, america may bring up the help they sent to haiti an use that to their advantage, if you understand what i’m saying?
plus it makes america look good

We don’t help them, politically speaking. We help them, humanitarianly speaking. It’s not about a payoff. But if doesn’t hurt our image in the world.

  6. Becca Says:

If this isn’t a joke, I can only hope you need help someday and run into someone like yourself.

  7. BURN IT! Says:

Because we are a Christian Nation.

  8. Hector Frodo Says:

We have nothing to gain from it politically. We do it because we are the greatest nation on God’s green earth.

Other People will think the US are good guys and forget all about how the US makes the Palestinians live in such horrible poverty that it makes the Haitians look like triple billionaires.
